With the Talkn’ Trash quilt, it was fun to see how many throw-away items I could use. I began with a trash heap, and went from there. In the quilt, the cart is carrying additional refuse to add to the pile. I used plastics, paint, wool, plasticĀ  bags, and used a mesh onion bag to hold the trash, something… like real landfills do to keep things from blowing around. There are grayish, dirty fumes floating through the air as the the trash smolders on.

The green area represents bio-degraded materials (hope!), working their way back into the ecosystem.

The quilt will be included in Tactile Expression’s show this next spring in Oregon. More on this later.
